At Smythe, we recognize that we are not immune to effects of The Coronavirus (COVID-19) and continue to monitor any changes closely. As an organization, our priority remains to ensure the health and safety of our people and clients, while working together to minimize any possible business disruptions.
To mitigate the potential spread of infection, we are encouraging staff to stay home if they feel sick and to self-quarantine if they or anyone close to them has recently travelled to one of the high risk affected areas or have been in contact with someone undergoing self-quarantine or have a confirmed case of COVID-19 (click here for an updated list of countries). We have also made changes to a number of our internal policies and, as of today, are happy to report we have had no reported cases of Smythe staff or family members being infected with the virus.
Further, as many of our clients visit our offices and our staff visit our clients, we have increased the protocols to ensure everyone’s safety for both visitors and for our staff. This will include restricting access for any individuals who, or anyone close to them, has recently travelled to one of the high risk affected areas or has come into contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Similarly, we are requesting clients to update us on their own protocols for dealing with COVID-19 before we send our staff to their office.
At Smythe, we have invested heavily in technology that allows our staff to work remotely and have developed a preparedness plan that addresses all potential situations. Should the need arise, our staff are prepared to work remotely with little to no disruptions to our daily business operations.
We can assure you our commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff and clients remains our number one priority. That being said, we understand it is our busiest time of year and we are committed to maintaining the quality and timeliness of service that you expect from us as a firm.
