Our Experience

Leading the Smythe Advisory practice is Partner Mike Berris, CPA, CA, CBV. Mike has been advising insurance industry participants for over 25 years and is recognized throughout Canada as a leading advisor in this field. Working with Mike is Partner Alex Wong, CPA, CA, CBV, and a team of seven professionals that all have considerable experience with every aspect of the insurance distribution industry.

In addition, Smythe Advisory has developed good working relationships with other industry participants, helping us leverage our service offerings. This includes trusted relationships with banks, private equity firms, consolidators and lawyers.

Over the years we have been involved in hundreds of assignments that include services ranging from accounting assistance, valuations, raising of capital, restructuring, management buyouts and mergers and acquisitions.   • Arranged financing of $30 million for brokerage restructuring;

  • Ran due diligence process on a recent brokerage acquisition;
