April showers bring May flowers, so the saying goes. But in the accounting world, April?s long hours end with May flowers! Another busy tax season has come and gone and a great effort on everyone?s part made it very successful. There were lots of perks to keep going as we plugged away at the pile of red files . . .

The office was kept energized with treats including pizza, fruit trays, veggie platters, cheese and crackers, sushi, Linda?s cinnamon buns and what seemed like never-ending donuts. We were even treated to early morning office-made waffles by our in house Martha Stewart!

We lost the ties and wore our Canuck gear on game days to support our team . . . jersey?s are in full force today as Game 6 approaches!

On April 29th the office took part in ?Wear your jeans to work day? with proceeds benefiting the Children?s Hospital. Many thanks to everyone who supported this excellent cause; those contributions enabled us to beat our last year?s total!

At last, April 30th was upon us. With the taxes done, it was time for fun and as we neared 5:00 pm the office was buzzing with anticipation of our annual Tax Party. The rain held out as we made our way to The Vancouver Rowing Club and celebrated a hard working April with drinks and BBQ. A good time was had by all! Here are some pictures from the night –

As we head in to our second week of May we welcome our new student recruits and hope they are adjusting well to the Firm – Aman Parmar (BCIT), Amanda Teixiera (UBC DAP), Sarah Ng (University of Alberta/co-op grad), and Aleem Jinnah (summer student – – Douglas College).

And we welcome back James Reid as a full-time articling student. James attended McGill before he joined us last summer. He completed his degree at UBC in December, and has been travelling for the past few months.

With the tax season in our rearview mirrors we look forward to sunny days and lots of Canuck hockey after the win tonight!
