Michelle joined Smythe in January 2021, in the role of Chief Information Officer. As CIO, Michelle leads the technology strategy for the organization, focusing on driving innovation and efficiency for both staff and clients, as well as supporting the day-to-day technology operations of the firm.

Michelle brings over 20 years of experience in both information technology and business focused roles in the banking, telecommunications and government sectors. Most recently, Michelle was Director of Industry Experience and Operations for the Vehicle Sales Authority of BC, where she led the Technology, Marketing and Communications, Finance, and Learning functions. While at the VSA, Michelle was responsible for developing and delivering the organization’s digital transformation strategy, streamlining delivery of core VSA programs, and building a continuous improvement approach within the organization.

As a leader at Smythe, Michelle is committed to building engaged, diverse and inclusive teams using a variety of innovative resources and team-building approaches. She is committed to creating a transparent and candid leadership where employees are free to share their thoughts, ideas and beliefs to help the team succeed and reach their goals.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, curling up with a good book and travelling.
