Jens Watson

Jens joined Smythe in 2020 and has extensive experience providing accounting and tax services to a variety of clients, including owner-managed businesses, mining corporations, professional partnerships, and trusts. He focuses on providing tax compliance, tax planning and business advisory services to privately-owned businesses.
Jens graduated from the University of British Columbia (Sauder School of Business) in 2009 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in accounting. He wrote and successfully passed the Uniform Final Exam in 2012 and obtained his CA designation in 2013. Jens then went on to complete the three-year CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course in 2018.
Jens had previously worked for a local mid-sized firm as its tax manager before this firm was acquired by Smythe in 2020.Outside of work, Jens enjoys playing squash, golfing, hiking and snowshoeing, and is an avid hockey fan.
