Smythe Announces the Promotion of Five Managers and One Principal
VANCOUVER, BC, October 6, 2022 – Smythe LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of six members of staff, effective September 1, 2022.
Doris Cen, CPA, CA, has been promoted to Principal – Assurance. She joined Smythe in 2016. She has extensive experience providing assurance, advisory and tax services to both public and private companies in various industries, including mining, oil and gas, real estate and construction, hospitality and technology. Doris is a former Module 1 and 3 facilitator for the CA School of Business.
Michelle Leung, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Manager – Assurance. Michelle is primarily focused on providing accounting, assurance and advisory services to public and private companies in a variety of sectors including technology, mining, oil and gas, and manufacturing sectors. Within the Firm, Michelle is active in campus recruiting and a member of the Learning and Growth committee, which develops in-house training programs for staff. She joined Smythe in 2015 and obtained her CPA designation in 2018.
Mitchell Peterson, CPA, has been promoted to Senior Manager – Assurance. Mitchell specializes in providing accounting, assurance and advisory services to public and private companies in a variety of sectors including mining, manufacturing, technology and pension plans. Within the Firm, Mitchell is active in campus recruiting, as well as staff mentoring and development. He started at Smythe as a full-time articling student in 2015, obtaining his CPA designation in 2018.
Sarah Ng, CPA, CA, has been promoted to Senior Manager – Assurance (Langley). Originally from Edmonton, Sarah moved to Vancouver and joined Smythe in 2010 and obtained her CA designation in 2012. Sarah spent a few years as a Controller in the manufacturing and technology industry and rejoined Smythe’s Langley Office in 2017. Sarah is primarily focused on providing accounting, assurance and advisory services to privately-owned and owner-managed companies in various industries. Within the firm, Sarah is active in staff development, coaching and mentoring as well as organizing social events.
Anita Kong, CPA, has been promoted to Manager – Assurance. Anita is primarily focused on providing accounting, assurance and advisory services to non-profit organizations and private companies in various industries. Within the firm, Anita is active in staff development and providing in-house training. Anita is a graduate of the UBC Sauder School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting and obtained her CPA designation in 2021.
Manvir Gill, CPA, has been promoted to Manager – Assurance (Langley). At Smythe, Manvir is primarily focused on providing accounting, assurance, and tax services to private companies in various industries. Within the Firm, Manvir is also active in staff development and in CPA student mentoring. Manvir joined Smythe in 2020 and obtained his CPA designation in 2021.
