Hervé Leong-Chung

Hervé is a Partner in Smythe’s Accounting & Assurance Group, providing audit, assurance, and accounting services to public and privately held businesses. He works with clients across the technology, mining and exploration, and mortgage investment corporation sectors. 

At Smythe, Hervé leads the firm’s CPA education and certification program, is a coach to other managers, and serves as Independence leader. He is also interested in expanding Smythe’s expertise in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters. 

Originally from Mauritius, Hervé moved to London, England, where he completed his education and undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester before earning his UK CPA designation. He relocated to Canada in 1990, obtained his Canadian CPA designation in 2000, and joined Smythe in 2009 after working with firms in England, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vancouver.  
 
In the community, Hervé has served as Board Chair for a Catholic school for girls and as Treasurer for the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, playing pickleball, and staying fit.
