Kevin Tong

Kevin is a Principal at Smythe and a member of the firm’s Canadian Tax Group, providing tax advisory and compliance services to privately held businesses and individuals. With experience in corporate reorganizations and tax planning, he focuses on clients in the real estate and construction industries.  

Recent Projects 

• Structured estate planning strategy for a corporate group with over $60 million in non-resident assets and beneficiaries   
• Advised on tax optimization strategies for high-net-worth clients and family offices with assets exceeding $50 million 
• Transacted on sale of client group for proceeds of more than $80 million 

Kevin earned his Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in 2017 and has completed the In-Depth Tax Program (2020) and In-Depth Tax Issues for the Owner-Managed Business (2023) through the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. He is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Urban Development Institute.
