Tamiko Iwata

Tamiko brings decades of experience in both industry and public practice to her role as Smythe’s Chief Financial Officer. Before joining the firm in 2017, she spent nine years as Director of Finance at another mid-sized firm. She works collaboratively across all levels of the organization to foster open communication, improve operational efficiencies, and support Smythe’s strategic growth.

Tamiko held a variety of accounting roles before returning to school to pursue her designation. She graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Technology in Accounting in 2000 and earned her CA designation in 2003.

In the community, Tamiko has been a long-time supporter of the Hope International Development Agency and MS Canada.

Outside of work, she enjoys watching NFL football and spending time with her family.
