Helene Vergara

Helene provides cross-border tax planning and compliance services to privately held businesses and individuals, including those with interests in both Canada and the United States. She works closely with clients in the technology and professional services industries, assisting with income tax planning, Canadian and U.S. trust and estate tax compliance, and related cross-border matters. 

Within Smythe’s Cross-Border & US Tax Group, Helene contributes to technology improvement and automation initiatives, process standardization, and template development to enhance team efficiency. 

Helene graduated from Douglas College in 2020, successfully passed the Common Final Examination (CFE) in 2022, and obtained her CPA designation in 2023. 

Outside of work, Helene maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys travelling.
