Helene Vergara

Helene joined Smythe’s Cross-Border & US Tax team in 2018, after working for several years as a tax analyst at a multinational firm. Within that practice, she works primarily with individuals residing in or immigrating on both sides of the US–Canada border. She helps them with income tax planning and compliance. In addition, Helene is involved with Canadian and US trusts and estate tax planning and compliance and works with Canadian privately held businesses. At Smythe, Helene is involved in the training of new hires and CFE mentorship.

Helene completed her undergraduate degree at Douglas College in 2020 and passed the CFE in 2022. She achieved her CPA designation in 2023.

Outside work, Helene maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys travelling.
