At Smythe we are committed to the development of our people. Providing exposure to a diverse range of business clients is integral to our continued success. We offer ambitious people opportunities to challenge themselves and advance their career not only in a technical manner, but also in business development and community support. Our culture is highly supportive and embraces diversity.

Our Commitment

We continue to deliver quality services to attract, develop, motivate and retain a high performing and diverse workforce, within a supportive and productive work environment. We continue to engage and collaborate with our team; we work to continuously grow and develop our people to set them up for success

The Articling Experience

We are proud to have led hundreds of students over the past 35 years to become successful, qualified accountants. We have achieved this by providing guidance and mentorship, as well as extensive coaching and training. We utilize both classroom training and on the job practical experience to facilitate skill development in technical, business development and project management.

As an articling student, you will have the support of dedicated experts as you begin your modules and for all components of the CPA program. Your schedule will be closely monitored by your coach to ensure that you are given assignments to solidify your knowledge in preparation for exams. All of our students progress through the audit and assurance path so that you will be exposed to a wide variety of sectors and industries. We match you with the right mentors and markers for your learning style, ensuring that all of our training is current, setting you up for a successful career as a CPA.

We believe that the experience gained from working directly with clients is an invaluable opportunity. Working with clients helps the development of customer service relations, industry and client knowledge, and encourages individual career growth. For this reason, we introduce our junior staff to clients very early in their career to begin building those relationships and developing these essential skills.

Open communication across all levels, timely feedback and a supportive mentoring culture are all reasons that Smythe is the ideal setting to launch your accounting career.
