Aliya Goldan

At Smythe, Aliya primarily provides tax services to privately held businesses and individuals. She is an expert in Canadian tax, and a member of the BC Tax Conference Committee, and the Canadian Tax Foundation. She is also involved in coaching and recruitment of young accountants at Smythe. She wants to expand into estate planning services at Smythe. She has spoken at Canadian Tax Foundation conferences and the Fraser Valley Chartered Accounting Association. She has also co-authored an article in CPA BC: “Corporate Attribution in the Context of an Estate Freeze: Watch Out for the Trap.”

Aliya was born in Brazil and raised in Vancouver after moving at age one. She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Waterloo in 2006 and her CPA designation in 2011. She rejoined Smythe in 2016 after spending two years in the tax group of a mid-sized national firm.

When not working, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
