Originally from Kelowna, Emily has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria.  She obtained her CA designation with Smythe in 2011 and completed the three year CPA In-Depth Tax Course in 2015.

Emily has been with Smythe since 2008 and has enjoyed working with a variety of clients, including professional partnerships, family trusts, large corporations and owner-managed businesses in that time.  As an active member of the Technology Industry Group, an area of specialty for Emily is working with technology-focused clients, both established and start-up, and assisting them with Canadian tax filings including SR&ED, the BC Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit and other government programs. She also works with corporations and individuals from countries around the world with their Canadian tax considerations and filing requirements.

When she’s not enjoying a relaxing evening at home with her husband, you can often find Emily on the trails in North Vancouver and surrounding areas, hiking, camping or snowshoeing. She is a recreational volleyball player, loves travelling to new places and experiencing local cuisines and is working hard to learn to speak Korean.
