Born in Mauritius, Hervé moved to London, England at the age of five. Hervé graduated from the University of Manchester, UK with a degree in Accounting and Economics. He holds a Chartered Accountant designation in both England and Canada.

Hervé’s public practice career began in London and has included working with an extensive group of industries and within international accounting practices. Throughout his career, he has resided in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong, before moving to Vancouver. Hervé’s focus in assurance and advisory business services has been with international businesses with a particular emphasis in life sciences technology, and exploration companies utilizing his extensive knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and SOX requirements and ASPE. Hervé is also the partner responsible for people at Smythe.

An avid runner, Hervé has competed in a multitude of 10K runs and half marathons. He sits on the board of Little Flower Academy and has served as Finance Chair, Board Member and Treasurer for a variety of associations.
