Anita Johnson

At Smythe, Anita works primarily with non-profit organizations, private businesses and individuals. She specializes in audits and reviews, corporate and personal tax, and consulting. She has given a presentation on “Understanding Charity and NPO financial statements and tax returns” to the Charity and Not-for-Profit Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association. Anita is also involved in mentoring, training and recruitment activities at Smythe.

Anita was born in Helinski, Finland, moved to Edmonton at age 3 and Kitimat, BC at 7 where she grew up. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia in 1987 and obtained her CPA designation in 1990. Anita has been with Smythe since 1986 as a summer student and then joined full-time in 1987.

Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, watching her boys’ hockey, and travelling.
