David Keyworth

David is a Partner in Smythe’s Accounting & Assurance Group, where he works with privately held businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations across industries including real estate & construction, distribution, nation-wide retail, (P&C) insurance, manufacturing, and aviation.

With nearly 30 years of experience, David brings deep expertise in audit, taxation, and advisory services, along with specialized knowledge of complex ASPE accounting matters. His practical, solutions-focused approach has guided clients through business transitions, financial reporting challenges, and strategic planning decisions with confidence and clarity.

Before joining Smythe, David served as Professional Practice Director at a multinational firm from 2017 to 2021, where he oversaw audit quality for private clients across Western Canada.

Outside of work, David enjoys travelling, biking, hiking, and spending time with his wife and two teenagers.
