Michelle So

Michelle is a Partner in Smythe’s Accounting & Assurance Group. She provides assurance and advisory services to a diverse client base, including privately held businesses, public companies, and pension and benefit plans. Her experience spans multiple industries, with a focus on technology, asset management, real estate and construction, and mining and exploration.

Michelle began her career at a Big Four accounting firm before joining Smythe, where she now plays a key role as a member of the Firm’s Standards Committee and the Technology Niche Group, and contributes to student mentoring and development.

She remains engaged in the broader accounting community, with her involvement including serving on the Douglas College Accounting Department Program Advisory Committee and the CPABC Public Company Forum, as well as previously contributing to the CPA Canada Professional Engagement Guide (PEG) Task Force Committee. Michelle has also supported the next generation of professionals through her role as a mentor in the York House School Alumnae Mentorship Program.

Michelle graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2005 and achieved her CPA designation in 2010.
