Randy Munro
Randy has over 30 years of experience providing professional tax advice across a variety of industries. He has extensive experience with owner-managed businesses, including corporate reorganizations, business succession structuring and estate planning.
In addition, Randy has many focus areas, one being specialized tax services for First Nations, including structuring commercial groups, establishment of settlement trusts and advising on the tax chapters of treaties. Previously, Randy served for many years as the National Leader of the First Nations Tax Group at a national firm. Randy has also served as the Treasurer of the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation, and is currently involved with the New Emergency Room Fundraising Committee for the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Randy graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting. He started his career at a national firm in Prince George, BC, and after 13 years there, he and his family relocated to the Lower Mainland. Prior to joining Smythe in November 2017, Randy worked at a national firm as a tax partner.
In his spare time, Randy enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and their three Doberman Pinchers. Over the years they have rescued many Dobermans and enjoy spending time with them from mountain trails in the Rockies to the sandy beaches of Tofino.
