“Accounting is essentially a people business”. As a long-time public practice practitioner, Andy lives out that mantra with his clients.

Andy has enjoyed the people business for 35 years as a Partner with Morgan & Company LLP, which merged with Smythe in August 2020. His practice includes advising a variety of public and private companies on initial public offerings, financing and public company regulatory compliance, as well as private companies in the real estate and film industry.

In 1980, Andy obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Geography from the University of British Columbia and followed up with his Licentiate in Accounting from the Sauder School of Business in 1983. He qualified as a CA in 1986 while working at a large national firm.

For many years, Andy has volunteered his professional time with the CPABC Public Practice Committee and the Public Company Technical Forum. In addition, Andy served as a founding board member of TASK International, an international association of independent professional accounting firms that specialize in transnational audits. He has also given back to the community, volunteering over 20 years with the Boy Scouts as a leader and with many youth soccer and baseball teams as a coach.

Away from work, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and family and wandering around a golf course.
